GOLDEN JUNE is a family friendly, outdoor festival with a focus on active lifestyle. Held at Deerfields in Horseshoe, NC, and running June 12-14th, GOLDEN JUNE will feature volleyball tournaments, hiking, mountain biking, and lake activities including kayaking, canoeing, SUP, (bring your floaties!) and swimming during the day. There will be a break for Family Dinner on Saturday night, an opportunity to show off your camp cooking skills and break bread with your neighbors, with music on the iconic Deerfields Stage until midnight.
Is it ticketed?
Yes. GOLDEN JUNE is a private, ticketed event. You must have a ticket to enter the festival grounds. Pickup volleyball is free with your ticket. Registration for the volleyball tournaments is optional and in addition to the ticket price. You do not have to play in the tournaments to come to the festival, but you will have to have a festival ticket to play in the tournaments. There are multiple ticket options over the weekend including Day Passes, a Saturday/Sunday Two Day Pass and a Friday/Saturday/Sunday Weekend Pass. The gate and check-in will be open to ticket holders Friday, June 12th from 3pm-10pm, Saturday, June 13th from 8am-4pm, and Sunday 8am-12pm. You must check in to get your wristband before proceeding to the parking area and campgrounds.
Where is Deerfields?
Address:
101 Watagnee Trail, Horse Shoe, NC 28742
The last part of the drive off of the Highway 280 (also called the Boylston Highway) from either direction looks like this: Turn at the light onto South Mills River Rd. Stay on South Mills River Road for 5 miles to the dead end. Turn right on the paved Watagnee Trail. Come up the Watagnee Trail for 0.4 mile. When the paved road ends, proceed straight onto the white gravel road. Stay straight and low on that white gravel for 0.9 of a mile, at which point you will find yourself at the Upper Lake between the Cabins.
You will lose cell service about two miles in on South Mills River Rd. So, if using a map application on a cell phone or other device, do not close out of the app, because you will also lose your place!

Absolutely. GOLDEN JUNE is an all ages, family friendly event. Tickets for kids 17 and under are free but must be reserved alongside an accompanying parent or guardian. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Quiet camping is available.
What about dogs?
Dogs are welcome at Deerfields but are required to pay a $30 land use fee. You’ll need to add a Doggo Pass to your ticket to bring your fur baby. Also, you must clean up after your dog in all public areas of Deerfields, especially around the Main Stage, lake, and volleyball courts.
Will there be medical and security?

Do I need a separate car camping pass? What if I have an RV?
No. Car camping is included in the price of your ticket, as is parking for day passes. There are a limited number of small, medium, or large RV spaces available, but there are no RV hookups at Deerfields. If you are bringing an RV, please email odysseyclayworks@gmail.com for details.
Will there be food or drink vendors?
No. Please bring at least 1 gallon of drinking water per person, per day, and enough food. Everyone is encouraged to bring something to share for Family Dinner Friday and Saturday night! The Ingles Grocery Store on Boylston Road is the last chance to get provisions before hitting the access road to the Deerfields property.
Is the event public?
No. GOLDEN JUNE is an invite only event. The event is not open to the public.
Can I invite other people?
Yes! You can share the registration link with friends and family but you are responsible for who you invite. If someone acts the fool and Security kicks them out, the person who invited them will be kicked out of the festival as well. This helps to ensure a safe, fun event for everyone.
