Even if you’ve never touched clay before, our highly skilled staff will guide you through the entire process. It’s the perfect opportunity to get creative and have fun! All ages and skill levels are welcome.

We have a special treat in store for this Valentine’s Day edition of Ready, Set, Throw. Come sip a glass of wine and nibble on chocolates while you and your partner explore the sensual aspects of clay. You can dig your hands in the clay, or work on a piece together. We’ll even help you re-enact the scene from Ghost! We will glaze and fire the work for you, so you can have a permanent reminder of your passion for each other. A great date for couples who don’t mind getting a little…dirty.

Mondays 3-5:30pmBuild your wheel throwing skills in a technique-driven course designed to push you further. With in-depth demonstrations on more complicated techniques such as multi-part thrown wares, altered forms, teapots, and more. Students will leave the class with the ability to see their ideas and concepts through to completion. Students who take this class should expect constructive feedback to better plan their approach, in order to make pieces with intention and control. This class is open to students who have taken at least a few wheel-throwing classes at the beginner and seasoned-beginner level.

Mondays 6-9pmFeaturing a live model each week, students will expand their understanding of anatomy, proportions and the mechanics of movement in 3 dimensions. After first creating a series of fast sketches in clay to work out technique, students will advance to a sculpture based on a long, single pose, with more attention paid to detail. Please join us for this exciting opportunity to work with decorated sculptor, Leonid Siveriver.

Tuesdays 11am-1:30pmHave you always wanted to try the potter’s wheel? Looking for a creative outlet in your busy week? Or perhaps you’ve got the basics but need a refresher and some new challenges! In this class we will create a foundation of knowledge of clay that will let you stroll into any studio with confidence. Classes will include demonstrations, group exercises, and one-on-one guidance. Students will have access to the studio outside of class time during open studio hours to practice. Expect to get a little messy, be challenged, and have fun!

Every Other Wednesday 1-6pmIn this 16-week class we will concentrate on creating soulful forms well suited to salty, soda atmospheric firing. Faceting, fluting, paddling, roping, and altering will all be explored to add interest and movement to the forms. This class is for intermediate to advanced students only! If you have any question regarding your skill level, please contact the instructor.

Cynthia Lee
Thursdays 1-3:30pmCynthia will demonstrate a variety of surface embellishments that include a unique set of materials like grog, handmade rollers, and found objects. Effects will be applied with the use of stencils, paper, Terra Sigillata and washes. Cynthia will help you to customize these techniques to your own body of work. Projects will include sculptural wall boxes that can be hung on the wall, as well as individual projects that incorporate your personal style.

Thursdays 6:30-9pmAre you a seasoned beginner but still getting those pesky S-cracks? Taken a few classes but can’t seem to get that extra weight out of the bottom of your forms? Got Thursday nights free? Come join Kristen for a deep dive into easy to learn but effective techniques to mastering the potter’s wheel. We will focus on efficiently pulling clay up to make taller, more even forms, explore trimming as a key to finishing your designs, and investigate the glazing process as an integral part your aesthetic vision.

Fridays 11am-1:30pmDo you hate glazing? I mean, do you really HATE glazing? Have you experienced the frustration of making a beautiful piece, then ruining it with flawed, or perhaps worse, boring glaze? Would you rather spend your time doing just about ANYTHING else, even cleaning your studio? Then this is the class for you! Join best-selling author of the book, Amazing Glaze, as he reveals the techniques that will help you learn to love the glazing process, achieve more dynamic results, and get your work noticed. Topics will include under and overglaze decoration, glazing large and delicate work, spraying glazes, and multiple firings. We will also examine the basics of formulating, mixing, and altering a glaze.
